Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees' primary responsibility is to define the purpose and mission of the University. The work of the Board is focused on issues of policy and long-term strategy.

The majority of its work is accomplished through committees that relate to the five functional areas of the University: Academic and Enrollment Management Committee, Advancement and Communications Committee, Business Management Committee, Student Development Committee, and oversight of endowment investments.

The Board has four scheduled meetings during the academic year. The University of Richmond's Board may consist of up to 40 elected trustees, plus the President, who serves as an ex officio trustee. The Board may confer Trustee Emeritus/Emerita status upon members who rotate off the Board.
